CRAIG FRANK is an active UCN Board Member. Craig served in the Utah State House of Representatives from 2003-2010, and 2012. While serving in the legislature, Craig was a member of the House Public Education Standing Committee, and, Chaired the House Government Operations Standing Committee. Craig has been a small business owner in Utah County since 1994. Craig has taught a charter school. He has also been a member of JHCS Board Development Subcommittee. He is the author and compiler of the CHARTRight dissemination manuals (2010 & 2011), a resource of over 900 pages of useful information for charter start-up and operations. Craig currently serves as the elected Chairman of the Utah County Republican Party. He and his wife have four children, all of whom have attended charter schools.
KIM FRANK has represented charter schools on Utah’s Capitol Hill for more than fifteen years. Kim has served as UCN’s Executive Director since its first year of operations (2011). Prior to that time, Kim helped to created UAPCS, and served twice as its Executive Director (as well as its Director of Policy and Advocacy). She has been personally responsible for sweeping charter policy and budgetary changes statewide for the growth and benefit of Utah’s movement. Kim is a respected advisor and “go-to” person on all-things-charter school at the Capitol. She sits on Governor Gary Herbert’s Education Excellence Commission representing charter schools statewide. She is the Board Chair of the John Hancock Charter School, and has served on that board since the school’s founding in 2001. All four of Kim’s children have attended public charter schools.
